monday CRM

The monday CRM app brings the Deals and Contacts boards of monday sales CRM into the conversation. Once an admin connects it:

  • Alerts post new deals, deals moving stage, deals won and lost, and new contacts into the channels you pick, as they happen.
  • Link previews show a deal’s or contact’s details under any link to one that someone posts.
  • /mondaycrm finds a deal or contact without leaving the conversation.
  • Log to monday CRM adds any message to a contact as an update, with a link back to it.

#sales with monday CRM alerts for a deal won and a new deal, and a contact link with a preview

monday CRM posts as its own member, monday CRM, so its cards are easy to tell apart from people.

Using monday.com for projects and tasks rather than sales? The monday.com app posts any board’s items into channels. The two can be connected side by side: links to items on your Deals and Contacts boards get the monday CRM preview, and the rest get the monday.com one.

Only Freesbe owners and admins can connect it.

  1. Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → CRM and find monday CRM, under Freshsales.
  2. Click Connect monday CRM. monday.com asks you to sign in and allow Freesbe into your account.
  3. Click Authorize. You’re back in Freesbe, with Connected next to monday CRM and your account’s name.

Workspace settings, Integrations, CRM: monday CRM connected to Northwind Traders, link previews on, and two alerts

A workspace connects one monday.com account. Freesbe finds its Deals and Contacts boards, the ones monday sales CRM sets up, and reads them as the person who connected, so it sees what they see: connect as someone who can see both boards, such as an account admin. Updates from Log to monday CRM are posted as that person too. Freesbe doesn’t change or delete anything else.

Freesbe reads each deal’s value, stage, owner, expected close date, contacts and account from the board’s columns, by their type and name. If you’ve renamed a board, call it Deals (or Contacts) again, or keep the word in its name, then reconnect.

Under monday CRM alerts, click Add alert, then pick:

  • Post to channel. Any channel, public or private. Alerts in a private channel are only visible to admins who are in it.
  • Alerts to post:
    • New deals, as soon as one is added to the Deals board.
    • Deals moving stage, for example from Discovery to Proposal.
    • Deals won and Deals lost, when a deal’s stage changes to Won or Lost.
    • New contacts, as they’re added to the Contacts board.
  • Smallest deal to post. Deals worth less are left out. New contacts always post.

Add more alerts to send different things to different channels: big deals to #leadership, new contacts to #sales. Each card shows the deal’s value and stage, account, contact and owner, and an Open deal in monday CRM button.

From an alert’s ⋯ menu:

  • Send a test alert posts a sample card, marked Sample alert, so you can see where alerts land.
  • Edit changes the channel, the kinds of alerts or the smallest deal.
  • Turn off pauses it, and Delete removes it.

Last alert under each one says when it last posted. To send alerts, Freesbe adds webhooks to your Deals and Contacts boards when you connect, so the person who connects needs to be allowed to change those boards, as their owner or an account admin. If they aren’t, monday CRM connects with Alerts are off, and everything else works: reconnect as someone who is.

When someone posts a link to an item on your Deals or Contacts board, such as northwind.monday.com/boards/2001/pulses/3001, Freesbe adds a preview under the message. Up to three links in a message get a preview.

Everyone in the conversation sees the preview, including guests, so turn Show a preview under monday CRM links off in Integrations → CRM if your CRM details shouldn’t be shared that way. Links to other boards, or to other monday.com accounts, are left alone.

Type /mondaycrm and a deal’s or contact’s name, or an email address, in any conversation, for example /mondaycrm Contoso. The answer is only visible to you: matching deals and contacts, each a link that opens it in monday.com.

The answer to /mondaycrm Northwind, only visible to Maya: a deal and a contact

Hover over any message, click ⋯ and choose Log to monday CRM.

  1. Type the contact’s email address or name. When the message is from a guest, their email address is already filled in.
  2. Change the Note if you like. It starts as the message’s text.
  3. Click Add note. When more than one contact matches, pick the right one and click Add note again.

Log to monday CRM: the contact’s email address and the note

The message goes on the contact’s updates in monday.com, with who wrote it, the channel and a link back to the message in Freesbe. You get a confirmation only you can see, with an Open contact button.

In Integrations → CRM, click Disconnect next to monday CRM. Freesbe takes its webhooks off your boards, alerts and previews stop, and /mondaycrm and Log to monday CRM go away. Your alerts are kept, so connecting again picks up where you left off.

If monday.com stops accepting Freesbe’s access, for example because the app was uninstalled there or the person who connected it left, monday CRM shows Needs reconnecting: click Reconnect and sign in again.

  • Freesbe keeps its access to your monday.com account encrypted and only uses it for what’s above. Each change is posted once.
  • Freesbe doesn’t copy your CRM: alerts and previews are made from the item when they’re posted.
  • monday.com signs every alert it sends, and each workspace’s alerts arrive at an address of its own.

Setting it up for a sales team? See Connect monday CRM to Freesbe. If alerts don’t show up, see monday CRM alerts aren’t posting.
