Pipedrive

The Pipedrive app brings your pipeline into the conversation. Once an admin connects it:

  • Alerts post new deals, deals moving stage, deals won and lost, and new leads into the channels you pick, within seconds.
  • Link previews show a deal’s, person’s or organization’s details under any Pipedrive link someone posts.
  • /pipedrive finds a deal, person or organization without leaving the conversation.
  • Log to Pipedrive adds any message to a person as a note, with a link back to it.

Pipedrive posts as its own member, Pipedrive, so its cards are easy to tell apart from people.

Only owners and admins can connect it.

  1. Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → CRM and find Pipedrive, under Salesforce.
  2. Click Connect Pipedrive. Pipedrive asks you to sign in and allow Freesbe. Click Allow and install.
  3. You’re back in Freesbe with Connected next to Pipedrive, and your company’s name.

A workspace connects one Pipedrive company. Freesbe works as the person who connected it, so it sees the deals, people and organizations they can see. Freesbe reads records, adds notes when someone chooses Log to Pipedrive, and sets up the notifications alerts need. It doesn’t change or delete anything else.

Connect as a Pipedrive admin. For alerts, Freesbe asks Pipedrive to tell it whenever a deal or lead changes, and only Pipedrive admins can allow that. If someone else connects, previews, /pipedrive and Log to Pipedrive work, and Freesbe shows Alerts are off until a Pipedrive admin clicks Reconnect.

Under Pipedrive alerts, click Add alert, then pick:

  • Post to channel. Any channel, public or private. Alerts in a private channel are only visible to admins who are in it.
  • Alerts to post:
    • New deals, as soon as one is added.
    • Deals moving stage, for example from Qualified to Proposal made, or into another pipeline.
    • Deals won and Deals lost, when a deal is marked won or lost.
    • New leads, as they arrive in the Leads Inbox.
  • Smallest deal to post. Deals worth less are left out. New leads always post.

Add more alerts to send different things to different channels: big deals to #leadership, new leads to #sales. Each card shows the deal’s value, stage, expected close date, organization, person and owner, and an Open deal in Pipedrive button.

From an alert’s ⋯ menu:

  • Send a test alert posts a sample card, marked Sample alert, so you can see where alerts land.
  • Edit changes the channel, the kinds of alerts or the smallest deal.
  • Turn off pauses it, and Delete removes it.

Last alert under each one says when it last posted. Alerts start with what happens after you add them: Freesbe doesn’t post older deals.

When someone posts a link to a deal, person or organization in your connected company, such as northwind.pipedrive.com/deal/1503, Freesbe adds a preview under the message. Up to three links in a message get a preview.

Everyone in the conversation sees the preview, including guests, so turn Show a preview under Pipedrive links off in Integrations → CRM if your CRM details shouldn’t be shared that way. Links to other Pipedrive companies are left alone.

Type /pipedrive and a name, an email address or a deal’s title in any conversation, for example /pipedrive Contoso. The answer is only visible to you: matching deals, people and organizations, each a link that opens it in Pipedrive.

Hover over any message, click ⋯ and choose Log to Pipedrive.

  1. Type the person’s email address or name. When the message is from a guest, their email address is already filled in.
  2. Change the Note if you like. It starts as the message’s text.
  3. Click Add note. When more than one person matches, pick the right one and click Add note again.

The message goes on the person in Pipedrive as a note, with who wrote it, the channel and a link back to the message in Freesbe. You get a confirmation only you can see, with an Open person button.

In Integrations → CRM, click Disconnect next to Pipedrive. Freesbe removes the notifications it set up in Pipedrive, alerts and previews stop, and /pipedrive and Log to Pipedrive go away. Your alerts are kept, so connecting again picks up where you left off. To remove Freesbe from Pipedrive too, open Tools and apps → Marketplace apps in Pipedrive and uninstall it.

If someone uninstalls Freesbe in Pipedrive first, the Pipedrive app shows Needs reconnecting: click Reconnect to bring it back.

  • Freesbe signs in to Pipedrive with OAuth and keeps Pipedrive’s access encrypted. Pipedrive’s notifications come to a private address with a password only Freesbe knows, and each one is posted once.
  • Freesbe doesn’t copy your CRM: alerts and previews are made from the record when they’re posted.
  • Disconnecting deletes Freesbe’s access straight away.
