Post Freesbe status to a channel
When Freesbe has trouble, your team hears it where they already are. Connecting takes a minute and needs a Freesbe admin.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Pick the channel. A channel the people who’d answer “is Freesbe down?” are in, such as
#it-helpor#ops-alerts. Make it first if it doesn’t exist.
In Freesbe
Section titled “In Freesbe”- Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Monitoring and click Connect under Freesbe status.
- Name it, pick the channel, and choose what to post: everything (the default, planned maintenance included), or only trouble.
- Click Connect Freesbe status. That’s all: Freesbe tells its status page where to post. There is no URL to paste anywhere.
What posts
Section titled “What posts”- Each incident is one card, with what’s affected and our latest update. The same card changes as the incident goes along and turns green when it’s resolved, with a reply under it for everyone following the thread.
- Planned maintenance posts ahead of time as an Info card.
- Cards link to the incident’s page on status.freesbe.net, where the full timeline and What happened are.
Check it works
Section titled “Check it works”Open the connection’s menu and choose Send a test alert: a sample card posts into the channel. Turn the connection off or delete it from the same menu; the cards already posted stay.
See The status page for everything it shows and the other ways to hear about incidents first.
