Post Sentry issues to a channel
Connecting Sentry takes about ten minutes. You need a Freesbe admin and a manager or owner of your Sentry organization.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- Make the channel first, such as
#app-errors, and add the developers who fix them. - Pick what posts. Every new issue in the organization, or only what your alert rules pick. For a busy organization, start with alert rules.
- For the buttons, the internal integration needs Issue & Event Read & Write.
In Freesbe
Section titled “In Freesbe”- Open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Monitoring and click Connect under Sentry.
- Name it (Sentry: storefront), pick the channel and Issues to post.
- Click Connect Sentry and copy the Freesbe URL (it’s shown once).
In Sentry
Section titled “In Sentry”- Open Settings → Custom Integrations, click Create New Integration, then Internal Integration.
- Name it
Freesbe, paste the URL in Webhook URL, and turn on Alert Rule Action. - Under Permissions, give Issue & Event Read & Write. To post every new issue, tick issue under Webhooks. Save it.
- To post alerts, add Send a notification via Freesbe to your issue and metric alert rules.
- Copy the token under Tokens, and paste it in the connection’s settings in Freesbe with your
organization’s address (
https://northwind.sentry.io). Resolve and Archive for 1 hour then show on the cards.
Split projects across channels
Section titled “Split projects across channels”Connect Sentry once per channel, with an internal integration for each, and add each one’s alert action to the rules of its projects. Leave issue unticked, since it covers every project.
See Sentry for everything the cards show. If nothing arrives, check the alert rule has the Freesbe action, then that the issue’s level is at or above Issues to post.
