Connect Freesbe to Make
Make lets you build scenarios on a visual canvas: watch for something in Freesbe and update another app, or the other way round. You need to be a Freesbe owner or admin to connect it.
Connect Make
Section titled “Connect Make”- In Freesbe, open Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → Automation and click Connect next to Make.
- Copy the API key Freesbe shows. It starts with
fsb-bot-and is only shown once. - In Make, add a Freesbe module to a scenario and click Create a connection.
- Paste the key and save. Make checks it with Freesbe straight away.
Connecting makes an app with a bot called Make, which posts your scenarios’ messages under its own name.
Let the bot into your channels
Section titled “Let the bot into your channels”- Public channels: pick the channel in a module and the bot joins by itself.
- Private channels and DMs: add Make from the channel’s member list first.
Build a scenario: react when an order ships
Section titled “Build a scenario: react when an order ships”- Start with your shop’s “Order shipped” module.
- Add Freesbe → Find messages to find the order’s message in #orders, for example by its order number.
- Add Freesbe → Add a reaction with 📦 on the message it found.
- Run it once to test, then schedule it on.
Freesbe’s Watch events module starts a scenario on any Freesbe event the bot can see: new and edited messages, reactions, files, new channels and people, huddles starting, meetings scheduled, recordings and transcripts ready. Freesbe sends each one the moment it happens, so the scenario doesn’t have to check every few minutes.
The actions are Send a message, Send a direct message, Add a reaction and Create a channel, the searches Find a person, Find a channel and Find messages, and Make an API call for anything else in the API the app may do.
See and stop what’s listening
Section titled “See and stop what’s listening”Turning a scenario on adds it under Triggers listening in Integrations → Automation. Click its bin to stop it, and turn the scenario off in Make too.
If something’s wrong
Section titled “If something’s wrong”- Make can’t create the connection. Copy the key again, or click New API key in Freesbe and use the new one. The old key stops working at once.
- Watch events never fires. Check the bot is in the channel and the scenario is on.
- Stop everything: turn off or delete the Make app in Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Apps.
