Freesbe

Sign in to your own tools with the account you already have.

Okta Workforce Identity starts at $6 per user a month, billed yearly with a $1,500 yearly minimum. Sign in with Freesbe makes your workspace the identity provider for your own tools over OpenID Connect, so your second step, single sign-on and phone approval apply there too, and someone who leaves loses access at once. It's on every plan.

  • Stop running a separate login for every internal tool.
  • Confirm it's really them at every sign-in, with a passkey or a tap on the phone.
  • Cut someone off everywhere the moment they leave the workspace.
  • Post each sign-in to a channel, and limit a tool to admins.

For Small teams with a few internal tools that need a login, but not a directory product.

Set up a tool in a few minutes

In the Admin Center, under Security, Sign in with Freesbe, click Add a tool, paste the return address it asks for, and copy the client ID and secret into it. Any library that speaks OpenID Connect works.

Sign in with Freesbe for the Northwind Dashboard app: issuer, client ID, client secret and return address

Confirm it's you, every time

Each sign-in to the tool asks for a passkey, or a tap on the number shown followed by a fingerprint or face on the phone, even if they're already signed in to Freesbe.

Confirm it's you: Northwind Dashboard asks each time you sign in, with the number 47 to tap on the phone

Your sign-in rules, once

Freesbe itself signs people in with a password, an emailed code, Google, Microsoft or Apple, a passkey or a tap on the phone. Admins can require Google or Microsoft on Corporate and Enterprise and a second step on Business, Corporate and Enterprise, and the audit log records every sign-in.

Sign in with Freesbe for Stock admin: admins only, a second step, and sign-ins posted to #leadership

Where Okta is the better fit

Okta signs people in to thousands of SaaS apps over SAML and OpenID Connect, provisions and removes accounts in them (lifecycle management), syncs with Active Directory and HR systems, and adds adaptive MFA, access reviews and privileged access. Freesbe signs people in only to the tools you register, over OpenID Connect, with no SAML or provisioning. Past a handful of internal tools, Okta is the right product.

Questions

Can Freesbe replace Okta?
For a small team that wants one login for a few internal tools, yes. For signing in to many SaaS apps over SAML, provisioning accounts or syncing a directory, no.
Can we sign in to Freesbe with Okta?
Not today. Freesbe signs in with Google, Microsoft, Apple, passkeys, emailed codes, passwords and phone approval, and admins can require Google or Microsoft.
What does a tool learn about the person?
Their name, email address, that they're in your workspace and their role there. It can't read their messages or post as them.
