Connect with a token you delete afterwards

In Mercury, create an API token with read and write access and paste the IP whitelist Freesbe shows you. In Freesbe, click Connect under Mercury, paste the token, pick the channel and the alerts you want, and connect. Then go back to Mercury and delete the token: Freesbe used it once to add a webhook to your account and doesn't need it any more. Mercury sends each new transaction and balance change to Freesbe, signed with a secret only the two of them know.

Private, and checked

Money is private, so a private channel for your finance team works best; alerts in a private channel are only visible to admins who are in it. Send a test alert to see where alerts land, and Last event tells you the connection is alive. Every delivery is checked against Mercury's signature, replayed deliveries are refused, and Freesbe can't move money.

Questions

Does Freesbe keep my Mercury token?
No. Freesbe uses it once to add a webhook to your Mercury account, and you delete it in Mercury right after. Alerts keep working without it.
Why does the token need write access?
To add the webhook. Mercury asks for an IP whitelist for these tokens, which you copy from Freesbe's form.
Who can see the alerts?
Everyone in the channel they post to, so a private channel for your finance team works best.
Which plans include Mercury alerts?
Every plan, including Free. An owner or admin connects it in Workspace settings, Integrations, Finance.
