# Get back a workspace that was deleted

Source: https://freesbe.net/knowledge/get-back-a-deleted-workspace/

> A workspace was closed and then deleted, by its owner or because nobody used it. Whether anything can come back, and what you can do instead.

A workspace you were in is gone from Freesbe, or you got an email saying **Northwind Traders was
deleted**.

## While it's closed, it can come back

A closed workspace is read-only for 30 days before it's deleted. Until then:

- If its owner closed it, the owner can reopen it.
- If Freesbe closed it because nobody used it, the owner or any admin can click **Keep this
  workspace**.

Look for the banner at the top of the workspace, or **Workspace → General → Workspace → Close
workspace** in the [Admin Center](https://freesbe.net/docs/admin-center/).

## Once it's deleted, it can't

After the 30 days we delete everything in it: channels, messages, files, recordings, meetings,
integrations and settings. Backups roll off within 30 more days. Nobody at Freesbe can bring it
back.

What you can still do:

- **Use an export.** If an owner or admin [exported it](https://freesbe.net/docs/export-data/) before, that copy has
  everything that was in it.
- **Start again.** Your Freesbe account and your other workspaces aren't affected. You can
[create a new workspace](https://freesbe.net/docs/workspaces-and-invites/), even with the same name.
- **Invoices** are kept for 7 years. Email us if you need one.

See [Close a workspace](https://freesbe.net/docs/close-workspace/#what-we-delete-and-what-we-keep).
