# Connect Dynamics 365 to Freesbe

Source: https://freesbe.net/knowledge/connect-dynamics-365/

> Post Dynamics 365 Sales opportunities and new contacts into channels, preview Dynamics 365 links, search with /dynamics and add messages to a contact as notes. Connect in Integrations, CRM.

Connect Dynamics 365 Sales and your sales team sees new opportunities, stage changes, wins,
losses and new contacts in a channel as they happen, gets a preview under every Dynamics 365 link,
finds opportunities and contacts with `/dynamics` and adds conversations to a contact's notes. You
need to be a Freesbe owner or admin. For alerts, you also need to be a System Administrator or
System Customizer in the Dynamics 365 environment.

## 1. Connect your environment

1. Open **Workspace settings → Integrations & apps → Integrations → CRM** and find
   **Dynamics 365**, under GoHighLevel.
2. Type **Your Dynamics 365 address**, the one in your browser's address bar when Dynamics 365 is
   open, such as `contoso.crm.dynamics.com`.
3. Click **Connect Dynamics 365**, sign in with your Microsoft work account and accept.
4. You're back in Freesbe with **Connected** next to Dynamics 365, and the organization's name.

Your company's Microsoft admin may need to approve Freesbe for everyone before you can accept. If
Microsoft says **Need admin approval**, ask them to sign in and accept it for the organization.

## 2. Add alerts

1. Under **Dynamics 365 alerts**, click **Add alert**.
2. Pick **Post to channel**, for example #sales.
3. Tick the **Alerts to post**: New opportunities, Opportunities moving stage, Opportunities won,
   Opportunities lost, New contacts.
4. Set a **Smallest opportunity to post** if you only want the big ones. New contacts always post.
5. Click **Add alert** to save it, then choose **⋯ → Send a test alert** to see a sample card.

Alerts arrive within seconds of the change in Dynamics 365. Add more alerts for different
channels: opportunities over $50,000 to #leadership, new contacts to #sales.

## 3. Decide on link previews

**Show a preview under Dynamics 365 links** is on to start with. Everyone in the conversation sees
a preview, guests included, so turn it off in **Integrations → CRM** if your CRM details shouldn't
be shared that way.

## 4. Tell your team what they can do

- Type `/dynamics Contoso` to find opportunities and contacts. Only you see the answer.
- Hover over a message, click **⋯ → Log to Dynamics 365**, type the contact's email address and
click **Add note**. The note goes on the contact's timeline with a link back to the message.

## If something's wrong

See [Dynamics 365 alerts aren't posting](https://freesbe.net/knowledge/dynamics-365-alerts-not-posting/).

- **Dynamics 365 says Alerts are off.** The person who connected isn't a System Administrator or
System Customizer. Ask one to click **Reconnect** and sign in.
- **Dynamics 365 shows Needs reconnecting.** Microsoft stopped accepting the sign-in, often because
the person who connected left. Click **Reconnect**.
- **Freesbe says it can't find the address.** Check the spelling, including the region number,
  such as `crm4` in `contoso.crm4.dynamics.com`.
- **No preview under a link.** Previews only show for opportunities and contacts in the connected
environment, up to three per message, and only while previews are on.

## Disconnect

Click **Disconnect** in **Integrations → CRM**. Freesbe takes its webhook out of the environment.
Your alerts are kept for when you connect again.
